The Medical Director of Stem Cell NZ is Dr Robert DeBoyer (NZMC Number 18990).

Robert was born and trained in the United Kingdom. His interest in joint and tendon function dates back to his tenure as Registrar at the Royal London Hospital Rheumatology Unit (MIle End) working with Professor Curry, And consultants Dr Gordan Barnes and David Perry.

The Unit was heavily geared to outpatient joint injection clinics and served as a centre of Excellence for the Greater London Area. This interest was incorporated into clinical practice and has been on going to date.

Holding both the UK Specialist Physician and General Practitioner qualifications in the UK Dr DeBoyer actively worked both in the hospital and family medicine arenas.

He continues to work both in Private Practice and in family medicine in New Zealand and has been a citizen of NZ since 1996

Years of clinical experience has given an awareness of how debilitating joint and rheumatological disorders can be. Also an awareness of how inadequate current therapy options are as spurred on an ever increasing interest in joint and tendon regeneration and harnessing the body's own repair mechanisms.
